My name is Thomas Dyer, but you can call me Norm. I've been living a fairly quiet and uneventful life up until about two years ago. That was when I was diagnosed with a painful but non-life-threatening disease that weakens joints like hips, knees, and ankles. Recovery will be a long road as they can't do all of the surgeries at the same time.

I'm very grateful that MaineCare will be covering the costs of most of the prescribed treatments, but they don't cover anything sold over the counter. Toiletries, toilet seat boosters, step stools, shower seats... these things add up. Even over the counter supplements they recommend but cannot supply.

Which is why I've opened this fundraiser for myself. It's the only proactive thing I can do from home without causing more pain.

I also have an emotional support dog called Holly who helps me through rough times. I'll make sure she gets a little something for each donation.
