Norma Santiago has been bravely battling a rare and severe intestinal condition for nearly nine years. This condition, called intussusception, is extremely uncommon in adults and has led to over 30 surgeries. Each procedure has taken a toll on her body, but Norma has always faced her challenges with courage and a positive spirit. Despite constant pain, nausea, and the emotional weight of her journey, she has remained a source of light and laughter for those around her.

Recently, Norma’s health took a devastating turn. Scheduled for a minor laparoscopic surgery, she experienced severe symptoms that led to a life-threatening complication. During the procedure, air entered her heart, causing her to go into cardiac arrest. Norma was clinically dead for 10 minutes before being revived by the medical team. The CPR that saved her life left her with broken ribs, and she is still hospitalized as doctors work to clear blood clots and stabilize her condition. The pain and uncertainty are overwhelming, but Norma continues to fight with the same resilience she has always shown.

Now, Norma needs our help more than ever. The medications required to keep her heart stable and prevent future clots are not covered by her insurance, and the out-of-pocket costs are staggering. On top of mounting medical bills, Norma is unable to work and faces daily living expenses that continue to grow.
