Meet Norman...he is having surgery in April

Norman is a young boy living in rural South Africa who faces daily challenges due to severe disabilities. Norman was born prematurely at just seven months and was later diagnosed with paraplegic cerebral palsy. Because of his condition, Norman is nonverbal and struggles with many aspects of daily life including sleep, eating, and mobility.

Norman also suffers from nerve damage in his eyes, which makes it very difficult for him to see. The only way he is able to receive proper nutrition is through replacement meal shakes. Despite these challenges, Norman’s family works tirelessly to give him the care and love he needs every day.

Norman’s mother is his full-time caregiver, dedicating all of her time to caring for him. His father works hard to support the family, but they live in a rural area where access to medical care, supplies, and transportation can be extremely difficult.

After years of waiting and struggling to get approval through the government hospital system, Norman has finally been scheduled for a critical surgery on April 7th at Grace Hospital in Pietermaritzburg. This surgery will help correct issues with his hips, legs, and feet and could significantly improve his comfort and quality of life.

However, there are still urgent needs the family must meet in order to properly care for Norman:

• Their van, which is essential for transporting Norman to medical appointments and the hospital, needs repairs costing approximately $950.
• Norman’s current wheelchair has broken and must be replaced. A new wheelchair will cost approximately $1,300.

Recently, I was able to help by sending money so Norman’s mother could purchase a new mattress and a pop-up net to protect him from insects while he rests. These small improvements have already made a big difference in his comfort.

Now we are hoping to raise funds to help Norman’s family repair their vehicle and purchase a new wheelchair so he can safely travel to his surgery and future medical appointments.

Any donation, no matter the amount, will help provide Norman with the care, mobility, and support he desperately needs. Your kindness can make a real difference in Norman’s life and help his family continue to care for him with the dignity and love he deserves.

Thank you for supporting Norman.
All proceeds are sent to Norman's family on international transfers using Remitly.com. There is fees for conversion that I included in fund raiser goals.
The fundraiser goal is $2500.
