Hello, most of you know me. I'm Norman Kern, sound engineer, sound designer, and mix engineer. I love music and I am fighting cancer again. The photo on here was from when I beat my throat and tongue cancer the first time. I received radiation therapy 31 times with chemo and had a 100% positive reaction to it. At this time in the photo, I had zero cancer. Well, 3 months later, high in my left cheek, I had a lump. We first thought it was fibrosis because it was also affecting my motion in my jaw. I could hardly open my mouth. On my third check-up in Guadalajara, my doctor put me through another CT scan to discover that the cancer was back, except this time it was just under my eye. My doctor gave me three choices. One, to do nothing, which was out of the question. Two, have surgery to remove it, which would leave my left eye unable to close and my mouth drooping down on my left side. Not something I want to do unless it is the only way to save my life. Three, do chemo again, which is what I chose. My body reacted well last time to the chemo, so I am doing that again. But as many of you know, I am in Mexico and Denisa will be leaving soon, so I have to do this on my own. I don't want her to stay; she has been through more than her share of hard times, plus she hasn't been working all this time and needs to make a living. So I am here without insurance, and in the middle of a lot of uncertainties. We have been stuck here in Mexico because of her immigration and the way they manage immigration these days. Been in Mexico for over 4 years. In a way, it is a blessing because if this happened in the US, I don't think they would have moved fast enough to save my life. So, I am now here on my own fighting the big C again. I'm asking for help so that I can continue my fight. It costs $2000 USD each time I have to get the chemo.
