Support the La Rue's NICU Journey

Hello Family & Friends,

As many of you may know on Saturday, September 21st little miss Nora Rose made her entrance into the world at just 28 weeks.

Both Julia and Eric have been so incredibly strong and brave during this time. Julia’s motherly intuition had been kicking in a few weeks prior when she was experiencing extreme discomfort so early on in her pregnancy. Luckily she was insistent about speaking up and when she showed up to her 28 week appointment on Friday 9/20 all signs pointed to pre-term labor. They sent her straight to Labor & Delivery and from there didn’t waste a minute whisking her away to Kaiser’s Oakland Medical Center which is well known for their amazing labor & delivery team and NICU.

Nora was born at 1:53pm the next day weighing 2lbs,11oz. Although little and very premature she has been a fighter from the start! Her lungs are currently strong and is breathing on her own with some help from a C-PAP. She will be in the NICU for the foreseeable future until she meets all milestones and is ready to come home. Julia was a warrior through it all and Eric was right beside her the entire time.

The La Rue’s have a long journey ahead and anything we can do to support them would make the hurdles they are going to encounter less burdensome.
