UPDATE 7/24/25
Nora’s Transplant Date is Set – August 27th
We finally have an official transplant date: August 27th. On that day, Nora will receive lifesaving peripheral stem cells from an unrelated donor—a huge step forward in this intense and emotional journey.
Leading up to transplant, Nora will undergo conditioning chemotherapy, which is a powerful and necessary treatment to prepare her body. As part of this process, you may begin to see changes, including hair loss. Please don’t be alarmed—this is expected, though it will still be incredibly hard to witness as her mama. And yet, this is just one of many difficult moments ahead as we fight for Nora’s life. She will also receive a dose of total body radiation to wipe out her bone marrow and allow it to destroy the bad and make room for the good!
As her full-time caregiver, I’ve had to make the painful decision to not work during this time. We will be living at Ronald McDonald House for several months after transplant so we can remain just minutes away from the hospital—this is crucial in case of complications, which are common in this process.
This brings us to a vulnerable reality: we need support more than ever. Without income and with mounting bills, I’m leaning on our village to help carry us through. Every donation, share, and prayer makes a difference.
We are so thankful for the love, encouragement, and generosity shown to our family. Please continue to keep sweet Nora in your thoughts and prayers as we move toward transplant day with hope and faith.
With deepest gratitude,
Kaitlyn & Family

My name is Susan Arnoult and I’m a family physician in Hagerstown, MD.
A co-worker of mine, Kaitlyn, recently had her 3rd beautiful child, but less than a month after he was born, her 2-year-old daughter, Nora, was hospitalized with a rare, life-threatening condition called HLH. Nora was hospitalized at Johns Hopkins where her life was saved, but she is now facing the need for a bone marrow transplant.
Kaitlyn, Chris, Nora, and the family have a long, difficult, and expensive medical journey ahead.
