Hello! My name is Nora LyTongPao. I am 13 years old and an incoming freshman in high school. Currently I am the only Hmong girl that wrestles in the Dane County area. This year was my first year doing club wrestling under the Timberwolves Wrestling Club in Sun Prairie, WI. In local tournaments I’ve been placing 2nd and 3rd which helped me become a state-qualifier for girls’ folk-style. I’ve been wrestling for around 3 years, most of it being in middle school. I want to wrestle for a local wrestling club to increase my skills and to make 2nd and 3rd turn into 1st and to turn being a state-qualifier to a state champ. Eventually my goal is to wrestle in college. I am so thankful for my coaches who have helped me with wrestling throughout this year. When Timberwolves ended, I was left with nowhere to train but my house. I’ve been training at home with what I have. For a year of training at a wrestling club and new gear for the school season, it costs $2000. Both my parents work very hard to support me and my siblings, but we need help raising money for wrestling. My goal is to raise enough money so I can become even more successful in wrestling. With the donations, I promise to train and work hard every day to become the first Hmong girl to win a state championship in Wisconsin.
