Support Nora and her family’s medical and travel expenses
Donation protected
UPDATE: (from July 9th)
Nora was discharged from the hospital late last week and is home resting. She will continue with her treatments to work on regaining control of the left side of her body and most likely will not return to the States until December. The family seems in good spirits and is so appreciative of the support that has been shown by our school, district, and community.

UPDATE:
Nora has been out of the ICU for a bit now. She is steadily improving and doing various therapies. Mr. Raup was sent video of Nora speaking and walking. Both of these were very encouraging and both parents seem in good spirits based on the information they are getting from doctors. It also sounds like mom is also getting more access to Nora which is wonderful news. The family is very grateful for all the support they have received.

Nora Lin, a rising second grader at Radio Park, is currently home in China with her twin sister, Nova, and their mother. Last week, Nora's mother was unable to wake her and immediately called an ambulance to take her daughter to the hospital. It has been determined that Nora had a cerebral vascular accident (specifically a vascular malformation) and, after a few days in a coma and surgeries to repair the issues, Nora is finally beginning to communicate more. Unfortunately, at this time, Nora still does not have any movement on the left side of her body. The hospital in China has strict visitation rules so Nora is unable to be visited by anyone and her mother only receives one or two updates a day. As all of you parents can imagine, this is very hard for Nora's mother in China and Nora's father thousands of miles away.
We are collecting funds to help pay for medical expenses and travel for Nora's father to join the family in China and/or to get Nora's twin sister, Nova, back at the start of the school year as all of the family's budgeted travel funds are currently being put towards medical care. The school district is providing support to ensure the family is getting connected with appropriate people as questions come up and the amazing team at Geisinger is connecting Nora's father to social workers and interpreters to help with medical and billing questions.
Thanks for anything you're able to contribute to Nora and her family, Mini Lions!
