Hi! My name is Noor. I’m a trans guy, and I’d like to share a bit about my journey with you. This Pride Month holds extra significance for me—I'm about to undergo gender-confirming top surgery, a step that will bring me closer to feeling truly comfortable and free in my body. This is something I haven’t felt since I was a kid. I am beyond grateful to have a life-saving surgery scheduled for this month, which I hope—combined with HRT—will restore the sense of joy and freedom the little guy in this picture has, inshallah. (I started T in January... see below!)
However, the medical costs associated with the surgery, combined with the necessary recovery time without working, create a financial challenge. I’m launching this campaign to help cover those expenses and prevent going into debt during this healing period. Additionally, financial peace of mind would help create space to focus 100% on healing.
I also want to name that I feel a lot of self-consciousness running this campaign. I generally struggle with asking for help, with the vulnerability of it, and all the more so when it involves finances. I also know there are so many important causes to support right now for people with far less than I have, to say nothing of the fact that many people I know are struggling themselves. With that in mind, whatever your support looks like—whether it’s prayers or texting me a funny meme—just know I am immensely grateful. I literally could not do any of this without my chosen family and community. Your love sustains me.
For those who feel able to contribute and for whom it feels aligned, I’ve listed my specific needs for the most intense part of my recovery period. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, for your support, and for celebrating Pride with me. Every bit helps, and I’m deeply grateful.
