Support Noor, her husband and Their Family
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Amna, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your help for someone incredibly dear to us — our friend Noor, whose beloved husband recently suffered a recurrent stroke whilst away on holiday.
On July 3rd, what was meant to be a long-awaited summer holiday turned into a traumatic and life-altering journey. Just a few hours before landing, he collapsed on board and suffered a NEW stroke mid-flight, in front of his wife and young daughters. Upon arrival, he was rushed straight to A&E accompanied by his wife and later diagnosed with a new right pontine infarct and left parieto-occipital infarct. He is now being treated at a local hospital in Kuala Lumpur, where he is left with left sided weakness affecting his mobility and requires NG tube feeding due to the risk of aspiration.
This tragedy comes after an already incredibly challenging year for the family. He had his first stroke in March this year, leading to a long hospital stay and ongoing rehabilitation at our local hospital in Newcastle. Despite this, with Noor by his side — working full-time, caring for him, raising their daughters, and never once asking for help — he began to improve. The trip to Malaysia was meant to be a celebration: a break, a chance to visit loved ones, and a reward for their daughters after completing their GCSEs and A-levels.
Now, Noor finds herself once again at her husband’s side, far from home, shouldering the emotional and financial burden alone. She is now the sole breadwinner, managing care across two countries, and preparing to support their daughters as they start college and university in September.
This fundraiser aims to help ease that burden — covering:
• Urgent living expenses as Noor steps away from work to care for her husband
• Flight tickets and possible repatriation to bring home if needed
• Their daughters’ education costs during this uncertain time
Noor has always been a pillar of strength — for her family, and for everyone around her. Now, I hope we can be her support.
Please consider donating whatever you can. No contribution is too small, and even if you’re unable to give, your prayers and sharing this fundraiser are just as meaningful.
Let’s come together as a community to show Noor and her family that they’re not alone.
With heartfelt thanks,
Amna
