WE STILL NEED YOUR SUPPORT! Scroll past the initial story (which has updates up til September 16, 2024) to a seperate update that covers September 17, 2024 to January 23, 2025. Thank you everyone!!!
Hello,
My name is Cyndi, and I am trying to raise funds to cover the surgery and physical therapy for my 9-month-old German Shepherd, Noodle. She has an abnormal closure of her growth plate on her front left leg (hence the outward turn) and issues with her right leg (starting the outward curve).

Noodle is not just a pet, she is my family. She came into my life when she was 10 weeks old, bringing light into a dark period. I am committed to doing everything in my power to help her. I am profoundly thankful and grateful to everyone who donates.

The eventual goal is to have Noodle and Ruby playing like this again, and I know she isn't in any pain.

THANK YOU!!!
Cyndi and Noodle
Update May 13th, 2024

Noodle had her consultation visit today. She will have to have surgery on both front legs. Since the left leg is worse, that will be done first. That surgery is scheduled for June 25th. She has to finish most of her growing first.
They have to do a dome-shaped cut of both the Ulna and the Radius bones, manipulate the leg into position, and then put a plate in. After 6 weeks of healing, she will get the right leg done. Each surgery will cost $4200-$4300.
I will update again after her surgery.
Thank you to everyone who has donated so far and those who will donate in the future.
Update June 25, 2024
Noodle is home from the vet. She came home around 7:15 last night. She started to become more alert around 10pm (bedtime of course). I slept on the couch, and wad checking on her everytime she whimpered. Noodle didn't get a cast, but has 17 staples in her leg. They can come out in 10 to 14 days. At that time she can stop wearing the cone of shame.
Ruby doesn't understand why she and Noodle are being kept separated so we are trying to also do extra special things with her
Noodle can be out of her kennel as long as she doesn't run, jump, climb stairs (or do anything fun), so at times Ruby is stuck downstairs with Kent or in her kennel so Noodle can have time out of the kennel. I don't trust either of them to NOT instigate a play battle if they have access to each other.
The first pic is after we got Noodle loaded in the car to come home, the next is when we got her in the cone and situated in the kennel. The other two are from today when she was out of the kennel for a bit.

Two days before getting staples removed, Noodle has developed an infection in her leg. Thankfully, you get the surgeon's number for emergencies. I called him thos evening, and he called in a script for antibiotics (so grateful for 24 hour pharmacies). She has had her first dose of antibiotics this evening. Hopefully there will be improvement by her Monday visit, and she can still get the staples out.

Noodle got her staples removed yesterday. The swelling has gone down with the antibiotics, and her leg is looking better. She now has a sleeve on her leg instead of wearing the cone. She has to keep the sleeve on until she stops trying to lick her leg. she has another 6 to 8 weeks to go before this leg is completely healed and we can do the other leg. Her next surgery for her right leg is set for September 16th.

JJuly 23, 2024
Noodle had some swelling again in her leg, and she went back to doing more a three legged hop instead of a four-legged limp. It was back to the surgeon today for x-rays and the results are in. It's time for Noodle to gear up for a marathon, not a sprint. Her left leg might be taking its time healing, but the plate and screws are holding strong. She is back on antibiotics for 20 days and then check back in with some more x-rays in a month. And here's the kicker: she might not need surgery on that right leg after all! Let's keep our paws crossed that everything heals up nicely and she can ditch those plate and screws in 2-3 months.
I did lower the goal amount to reflect the not needed 2nd surgery, but the added x-rays and antibiotics.

Hi everyone, we are 6 weeks in from start of surgery. For the last week Noodle and Ruby have been able to spend all day and night together again. They still can't run and play outside together, but we are making progress. Today I turned one year old, and in two weeks go for my 8 week check up and xrays.

Noodle had her 8 week checkup, and her left leg is doing great! She has been running and playing with Ruby once again.
But, during the last four weeks, her right leg did turn outward so she will have to have the surgery on it too. Originally, we were thinking of holding off until next year, but we also are hoping to move to Arkansas next year. With her surgeon here, and we like him, we decided to keep the original schedule that was first decided upon. So, September 16th is the date for her next surgery.

Today starts the journey with her right leg surgery. We are currently at the surgery center waiting for the vet tech to take her on back.
