Support Nolan: Trans Artist's Journey

Donation protected
Queer. Neurogdivergent. Existing.

We live in a time where existence is itself a radical act for queer people. Just A Little Guy is Nolan, artist and maker. "Just a little guy" is founded on the idea that many hands make light work, and that whimsy exists within all human beings.

After losing a job he held for 6 years, Nolan has found himself in the vulnerable valley so many of us have walked, fighting for his rights under unemployment. His claims have been denied, and because of that he has been cut off from resources he should have access to. Fighting for those rights cotinues, but he is just a little guy against the Goliath-state-of-California. So while he fights, he could use some help. Help is often that last thing people want to ask for, even when they need it most.

The best part is - you can help without donating. These are links Nolan's Etsy shop and Instragram that I encourage you to share:

Nolan is using this time to pursue art and creation. At a time when the dominate forces in US politics want to silence transfolx and abolish all art that doesn't serve a MAGA agenda, he's putting his truth and his beauty and his whimsy out there, trying to make the world better, even if it's just one person smiling for one moment because of his art.

Any who ever worked for "exposure" knows that doesn't pay rent or buy groceries. We're all in this late stage capitalist boat togather, though. So if you can help with cash, know that every dollar you can spare go to support a trans artitst.

Nolan's businesses are his only means of cash flow at the moment. What will any given amount of money actually do? Here are some examples and some goals:

$15-$30 = an application fee
$50 = funds an order of stickers
$100-150 = funds flight to Vegas for his paying job
$250-$385 = a booth at a single Jackalope fair*
$450 = Up Your Alley**
$650 = Folsom**

*Application must be approved by judges first
**Booths are bought, first come first serve

Folsom would be a huge opportunity and is the most ambitious dream.

It's hard to stand up against the machinery that would grind down anyone who doesn't conform, that would grind down free expression and the right to live with safety in own skin...but you can help one person today.

Some days, that has to be enough.
