I underwent a total hysterectomy (ovaries, tubes, uterus) to treat 10 years of severe PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder), hoping it would finally give me relief after years of pain and disruption. During surgery, the doctors unexpectedly found endometriosis on my colon, which required an additional surgery I wasn’t prepared for. The recovery process has been much more involved than I anticipated, both physically and emotionally.

As a single, self-employed small business owner living alone (except for my dog Freyja), I am responsible for every aspect of my life and work. Not being able to work/function at full capacity has made it extremely challenging to keep up, even with the support of my family and friends. Funding will go towards out of pocket/not covered by insurance medical bills from the surprise 2nd surgery/endo diagnosis, follow-up specialized care, while I focus on recovery.
