On October 23rd, 2025, Master Chef and Sensei Nobukazu suffered an intraparenchymal hemorrhage (IPH), a type of stroke with internal cranial bleeding. He spent several days in the hospital and has a long road of recovery ahead.
This unexpected event has put serious strain on his finances in order to cover the costs of his lifesaving healthcare and the ongoing testing during his recovery. He will be receiving weekly CAT scans to monitor his condition and has had to hire help to keep the restaurant open. Nobusan works tirelessly to keep his restaurant, Musashi Exotic Japanese Cuisine, running like a well-oiled machine; however, his current condition is keeping him from working, further exacerbating his financial situation. His students will also miss him teaching Kendo and Iaido at Keystone Dojo until he fully recovers.
For those who know Nobusan, he is a generous and loving individual who could use your help at this time. In his own words:
"My goal is to spread Japanese culture through kendo, iaido, Buddhism, and food. My main job is cooking food, so I want to make people happy by eating good Japanese food. In the same way, I want to stay here as long as I can to introduce Japanese culture and its spirit through all kinds of things. That’s my goal."
Please help Nobusan continue to live his dream while he recovers from this extreme medical event.
