Support Noah's Journey to Better Health

Donation protected
My name is Monique and I am a single mama who fostered a sibling group of 3 and recently adopted them. My youngest child, Noah, has had a significant number of medical issues since the day I met him. Noah struggles with his lungs, as he was a 29-week preemie who was also exposed to horrible environmental triggers, worsening his reactive airway disease before he even came into state custody. We have probably been admitted over 20 times to the hospital, and he is only 2 years old. Outside of that, Noah sees a handful of specialists often, as well as 5 weekly therapists, and that’s not including the frequent Dr/urgent care/ER visits in the midst of all of this. His lungs are unpredictable, and his asthma is uncontrolled at this time. He also aspirates liquids and is G-tube dependent for some of his hydration.

Noah has a chronic cough, worsened by outside play, smoke, or any viral illness. His asthma can get him as seriously ill as going into the PICU, and he has reached needing 15L of oxygen on multiple occasions. If you aren’t aware, that is pretty scary because the next step is intubation, and that in itself is extremely high risk for an asthma patient.

As his mama, I am broken that this is his life, and me and his pediatrician believe he deserves better. He is frequently needing oral steroids, and long-term that is not good for him. Every time he is in a flare-up, we are causing more damage and scarring to his lung tissue as well. Idaho has few options for care, and we are needing to go out of state for a second opinion.

At this time, Noah got into a specialist at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in Ohio. This is ranked the #1 pediatric hospital in the US, with their pulmonology program being ranked #1 in the US as well. We got in to see a pulmonologist this coming July (Los Angeles and Seattle couldn’t get us in until late fall or spring 2026).

With it coming up so soon and not qualifying for the Ronald McDonald House (only having 1 appointment), we are needing to raise money to get to do this trip. Insurance will be able to cover medical costs, but travel expenses are a lot, and as a single mama trying to figure out how to cover it all while missing work at the same time is hard.

Please join us in praying for this trip, Noah’s health in that week so we can even be seen, and praying we would reach our financial goal to make this happen. I want to help my boy. As he grows older, it’s sad to see how this affects him emotionally, as well as his quality of life.
