As part of the EVERY SEAT CLAIMED program of Board of Education candidate training, the New Jersey Public Education Coalition (NJPEC) recognizes the need to prepare candidates on how to deal with potential actions by the opposition such as harassment, intimidation and bullying in both the "real world" and on-line.

We have the opportunity to work with the organization, "Right to Be" to provide training tailored to BOE candidates. This personalized training has a cost but will make the training much more relevant and useful to our candidates.

Not only will it deal with "real world" situations but will also include on-line harassment and "doxing." Additionally, it will include bystander training for campaign staff and volunteers so that everyone involved in the campaign will have the knowledge they need to deal with potential problems and to insure security and safety.

Having this knowledge not only serves to protect our candidates and their campaign but also removes what has been a concern and barrier that has prevented some very qualified candidates from considering a run.
