My name is Nitza, and I’m reaching out for support for myself, my baby, and my fiancé. Not long ago, I thought I had a secure future planned with my ex-spouse, but everything changed when I became pregnant. The man I married disappeared emotionally, and I found myself trapped in an abusive marriage while expecting my child. After enduring so much pain, I had to get a restraining order and lost my job in the process. At my lowest point, while five months pregnant, I was so overwhelmed that I considered ending my own life. It was then that Jesus saved me—His love and grace pulled me out of the darkness and gave me the strength to keep going.
As I began the divorce process, my ex’s toxic behavior made it drag on for over a year and a half. Through it all, my faith grew stronger, and I experienced deep healing. I learned to forgive, even as I stayed safe and protected myself and my baby. Sadly, as I got closer to Jesus, my own family began to verbally abuse me and eventually kicked me out because of my faith. This was heartbreaking, especially while I was already struggling to provide for my child. I spent all my savings and maxed out my credit cards just to keep us safe, moving from hotel to hotel. There were moments I almost gave up, but God blessed me with a supportive fiancé who stood by me and loved my daughter as his own. His mother welcomed us into her home, but the apartment is cramped, and I sleep on the floor, still recovering from back pain after childbirth. We’re facing car troubles, food insecurity, and overwhelming bills, due to the constant and even current harrasment from my ex and his family and my own blood. To be honest, it’s hard not to feel desperate some days. Everytime we get back up, especially financially, an abusive attack comes from all angles. Even through the darkest trials. I still believe Jesus will use his people to help us pull through.
I’m asking for help so we can get a reliable car, find stable work, start saving for a permanent home, and pay off the debt that’s been weighing us down. I still trust in Jesus and His followers around the world. If you feel led to help, thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting us during the most stressful and scariest time of our lives.
