My name is Fadi Ashour, and I currently live in Texas in the United States. I am reaching out on behalf of my cousin, Ali Ashour, and his family, who are in desperate need of help. Ali’s beloved wife, the mother of their three wonderful children, has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. They are facing an urgent struggle—not only to secure life-saving treatment for her but also to find a safe place for their children.
Knowing Ali, I understand just how hard it is for him to ask for help. He’s always been the rock of his family, resilient and proud. Today, though, their need is greater than any one person can bear alone. To help you understand the strength and spirit of this family, I’ll do my best to share their story.
A Family's Fight for Survival: Please Help the Ashour Family
Imagine having your entire world collapse around you. Imagine living in a world where your home is destroyed by bombs, you are in a constant state of trauma and grief over the loss of family and friends, and, most importantly, your loved ones are fighting for their lives.
For the Ashour family, this is their heartbreaking reality. Ali (39 years old) and Nisreen (37 years old), along with their three children Karim (13 years old), Yousef (8 years old), Zain (6 years old), were forced to flee their home in northern Gaza when the war intensified. Their newly purchased home, which they were still paying off, was destroyed by the relentless bombardment, leaving them with nothing but the clothes on their backs. The only home they now know is a makeshift tent on a rented plot of land in Khan Yunus, costing an exorbitant amount of money, a price soon increasing to an impossible sum. For over a year, they have been forced to struggle daily to obtain the most basic necessities for a decent life, such as water, food and sanitation.
Karim, Yousef, and Zain were living a childhood filled with love, laughter, and safety. Now, the children have lost their friends, their toys, and the simple joys and innocence of childhood. They live with uncertainty, their days filled with fear and discomfort instead of play and learning.
To make matters worse, their beloved mother, Nisreen, has been diagnosed with malignant breast cancer. The toxic environment created by the ongoing bombardments and the decades of war and pollution that have plagued the region has likely contributed to her illness. Exposure to harmful chemicals, radiation, and other environmental pollutants has had a devastating impact on the health of Palestinians in Gaza, including Nisreen. Even amid the chaos, she bravely endured a double mastectomy. But without access to chemotherapy and radiation in Gaza, her battle is far from over, and her health remains at risk.
Ali is doing everything he can, but this family needs urgent help from compassionate supporters like you to survive—and to give the children a chance at happiness once more. Despite the horrible conditions, Nisreen recently underwent the major surgical procedure of a double mastectomy during the war in Gaza. She desperately needs to continue her post-surgery cancer treatment with chemotherapy and radiation treatments, which are unavailable in Gaza due to the ongoing war and the deteriorating state of hospitals. Her life hangs in the balance, and she urgently requires medical care that is only accessible abroad.
The cost of evacuating Nisreen and her family to a country where she can receive the necessary care is staggering, as well as the temporary housing and living expenses they will incur during their time abroad.
Every donation, no matter how small, will bring us closer to our goal of providing Nisreen with the life-saving care she needs and ensuring her family's well-being. Your generosity can help:
• Life-Saving Treatment for Nisreen: Every dollar raised goes directly to Nisreen’s treatment costs—chemotherapy, radiation, and essential medical care that could save her life.
• Help the Family Find Safety and Stability: With your help, the Ashours can travel to a country where Nisreen can access vital medical care. Contributions will help the family maintain safe shelter, giving Karim, Yousef, and Zain a stable place to live and play as they begin to heal from the trauma they’ve endured.
• Help Restore Childhood: With your support, the Ashour children can begin to feel like kids again. Every dollar brings them closer to a world where they can find joy, security, and a sense of normalcy.
Please join us in supporting the Ashour family during this critical time. Your compassion and generosity can make a real difference in their lives.
Why Your Help Matters:
Your donation is more than money; it’s hope. It’s the lifeline the Ashour family desperately needs. Even the smallest act of kindness can mean the world to a family struggling to survive. No child should have to grow up under the shadow of war, illness, and displacement. Even the smallest act of generosity can bring light into the Ashour family’s life and help their children reclaim the childhood they so deserve.
