Support Nira’s New Beginning After the Altadena Fire
Donation protected
We are Joni and Nathanael Chow, Nira’s children, from Pasadena, California. This fundraiser is deeply personal to us as we work to help our mom get back to her feet after the devastating fire. All funds raised will support her through this unexpected and challenging time.
Our mom, Nira Chow, is one of the most remarkable and selfless people we know. Her life has not been easy, but through every hardship, she has shown incredible strength and resilience. After the heartbreaking loss of my dad, she found the courage to start anew and created a home filled with love, warmth, and hope—a place where we could always find comfort no matter what.
For us, home has always been where Mom is. She’s the heart of our family, the one who holds us together and makes us feel safe. But now, the home she worked so hard to build—her sanctuary, her refuge, her fresh start—has been taken from her. A fire swept through Altadena and destroyed everything she had poured her heart into. All the memories, the small joys she lovingly created, and the comfort she had fought to regain after my dad’s passing were reduced to ashes.
This isn’t just about losing possessions. It’s about losing this home, the one place that gave her peace in a world that hasn’t always been kind. My mom has already endured so much, and this latest loss feels unbearable.
We are not the kind of people to ask for help, but this time, we truly need it. The emotional and financial burden of starting over is overwhelming, and we want so badly to help her recover from the loss of her home, and also regain her sense of hope and stability.
If you’re able to contribute, no matter how small, it would mean the world to us. Your support will help my mom begin to piece her life back together. It will remind her that even in the face of devastation, there are people who care—people who see her strength and want to lift her up.
Thank you from the depths of my heart for your kindness and compassion. Your generosity will help her reclaim her life.
With gratitude,
