Support Niomi's Adventure in Germany & Austria

This Fundraiser is for Niomi to adventure in Germany and Austria in July 2025. The kids (ages 14-18) will be exploring the Bavarian Alps, as well as the cities of Munich and Salzburg. They will be canyoneering and hiking as well.

Here are some words from her 7th grade teacher in May 2024;

Niomi is an exceptional student with a gentle soul who is most deserving of this trip and the needed scholarship.

Niomi is respectful and kind. She has been taught well by her parents, and without exception, treats her peers and teachers with respect. Her kindness and willingness to serve her classmates creates a positive inclusive environment. When grouped with difficult students or those with special needs, Niomi shows patience and maintains a calm disposition. She lifts others up and is never demeaning.

Niomi has a bright mind and has joined our school's Quiz Bowl team. She is quick and smart and has helped her team win many competitions. When Quiz Bowl requires Niomi to miss class, she completes missing work in a prompt fashion, often times ahead of schedule. She is proactive and uses the online classroom resources to juggle assignments and extracurricular activities; demonstrating maturity and responsibility.

Niomi is quiet yet confident in the classroom. She actively participates in class discussions and volunteers to read aloud when many others will not. She always practices good manners by raising her hand, smiling, making eye contact, asking permission, and saying please and thank you. These basic communication skills are lacking in the vast majority of her peers and will serve her well as she travels abroad. You will never have to worry if Niomi is doing what she has been asked and if there is a need, she will notice and pitch in.

I must also highlight Niomi's parents' active involvement in her education, as evidenced by their attendance at parent-teacher conferences. I’ve had the pleasure to meet them on multiple occasions, their dedication reflects a shared commitment to Niomi's academic success. Her mother also mentors high school students through her job reflecting their family’s commitment to the success of all local students, not just Niomi.

The opportunity to travel will be immensely beneficial for Niomi. This trip will provide her a valuable chance to apply the knowledge and skills she has acquired in my Leadership class to a real-world setting. Living in Moab, Utah, known for its natural wonders, Niomi has seen first hand how travel and tourism impact a local economy. She can appreciate how people from around the world have traveled to see our unique, beautiful town. I know she will represent our community well throughout her journey. I am excited for Niomi to be on the other side of tourism, as she becomes the explorer. Traveling will deepen her appreciation for the beauty of the earth, and expose her to other languages and cultures which I know she will be respectful of. Her kind heart and bright mind will allow her to teach and make an impact on other students. Her respect for nature and others will be evident in your program’s efforts to make a beneficial impact.

Niomi Kelly is a most deserving candidate for this scholarship; I wholeheartedly support her application. She has proven herself through her strong academic performance, respectful demeanor, and active school engagement. I commend her parents for raising such an exceptional child and for their desire to help Niomi become a full well rounded citizen through travel and service.
