My name is Fatima Roshanian. I am the founder of Nimrokh. I began telling the stories of women in Afghanistan when I was 16 years old. For years, I travelled across provinces, speaking to mothers who lost their children due to the lack of female doctors, and to girls denied access to school. All victims of violence, discrimination, and injustice.
Out of these journeys, Nimrokh Media was born in August, 2017. We are an independent media outlet committed stories few would: from child marriage to domestic violence, the right to divorce and custody, to the campaign for mothers’ names on national ID cards.
We are witnesses and keepers of Afghan women’s collective memory.

After the fall of Afghanistan, we did not stop. On the third day of Taliban rule, Nimrokh Media relaunched online, covering street protests, exile and resistance, displacement, migration, and the everyday lives of women surviving under threats and bans.
More than ever, we need your support.
In Afghanistan today, millions of women have been erased from public life. Girls are banned from education. Mothers are denied basic rights. Our journalists report in secrecy and danger. As deportations rise and poverty worsens, Nimrokh Media's survival depends on your solidarity.
To continue our work, we urgently need to raise $30,000. This will cover:
• Salaries for our brave reporters working from inside Afghanistan,
• Maintenance and upgrades for our website and social media platforms,
• Continued publishing in English to reach the world.
Your support is financial and an act of solidarity. It is a message to Afghan women: Your voice matters. Your life matters.
Let us allow these voices continue to speak.
Help us keep Nimrokh alive.

With hope and resilience,
