On February 19, 2025, our dear friend and teammate Nilson Mixsooke departed to heaven. In remembrance, The Chill is dedicating our annual outdoor hockey classic on February 7, 2026, to ‘The Mixer.’

Please join us at the Bonnie Cusack Memorial Outdoor Rinks adjacent to Ben Boeke for a day of fun and friends as all 16 teams in The Chill will compete on outdoor ice. Games start at 9:30am and will go on all day. Admission is free.

We hope to see you there, but in case you can't be there and would like to help out, please join us in raising education funds for the Mixsooke boys. All proceeds will go to Jillian to help support the boys' future educational plans. As they are just little guys, your generous donation will grow over the years and help make a meaningful difference to the family.

Nilson’s intelligence, passion, and smile brightened everyone he knew. He loved hockey and was a beloved teammate to all. Most of all, he loved Jillian and the boys. Nilson once said, “Moose forever,” and he was right. As his teammates we will do our best to always honor him.
