Hello! My name is Niko Pikar and I'm a film student at American University raising funds to produce my short film, Alligator Blood.

LOGLINE
When a young man tracks his stolen laptop to a suburban neighborhood, he's unexpectedly pulled into a private poker game run by a criminal crew, turning a simple recovery into a dangerous game of nerve.

THE PITCH
A desperate Uber ride. A stolen laptop. A room he never should have walked into.

Alligator Blood is a gritty neo-noir short film set over a single night in suburban Maryland, just outside Washington, D.C. When a young man tracks his stolen laptop to a seedy house party, he's pulled into a private poker game run by a dangerous criminal crew — and quickly realizes that he's in over his head.

Think Good Time meets Training Day — tense, character-driven, and shot with a raw, cinematic visual style inspired by Blue Ruin, Rounders, and Good Will Hunting.

We're a lean, passionate team working on deferred pay. Every dollar goes directly to the screen. Help us make something real!

THEMES & MESSAGE
Even the most capable people can feel powerless when they step into a world they don't understand. This film explores how intelligence, awareness, and adaptability become tools for survival when familiar rules no longer apply.

BUDGET OVERVIEW
Our total production budget is $2,625. All cast and crew are working on a deferred/volunteer basis — every dollar goes directly to the screen. We need these funds for AirBnB rental, transportation, food, and equipment costs.

WHY THIS FILM MATTERS
Alligator Blood proves you don't need a massive budget to make something cinematic and emotionally resonant. With one location, a committed cast, and a clear visual vision, we're building a short film designed to stand alongside the indie thrillers that inspired it — and to open doors for everyone involved.

Thank you for believing in independent film.
