DO NOT SURRENDER ANY ANIMALS TO Heidi's Haven Rescue! I sent Niko there with a promise from the owner, Sheila, that he would get neutered and get his vaccinations. After that, he was supposed to come home. We were going to go through the proper adoption process. She finally answered me after 3 days of no contact, telling me she used a cheap flea kit on him and he had an allergic reaction. She wouldn’t send me any photos of him, and I got suspicious. That night, I messaged her asking if she was able to drop my cat off where she had picked him up. She agreed but not right away; she came up with many excuses as to why she couldn’t make it. After 2 days in complete panic, I called and told her I’d even pay her to get my cat back. She agreed to drop him back off.
While we were talking to her about what she had used and what had happened, she took him out of the back of her car covered in deep wounds and extreme chemical burns. He’s lost about 4-5 lbs, and we were told it was because he didn’t want to eat.
When I brought him back inside, I realized how bad it really was. This woman totally abused my cat and malnourished him so badly that when he came home, he sat in the kitchen eating 1 can of tuna, 1 can of wet food, his cat food, and a full bowl of water. This makes me so uncomfortable, just to think someone who’s supposed to be trained and licensed would do this to a kitten. It’s beyond messed up, and I do not recommend this “Haven” in Williamstown.
Now I have to take Niko to the emergency vets to drop a pretty penny for the abuse he endured. It’s awful really, the shape he’s in. I’m doing everything in my power to keep him from getting an infection. Antibiotics are costly at that. I promise Heidi’s Haven will be sued. I’m going to make sure she pays for every medical bill and everything this cat has to go through and is going through. I’m so glad I trusted my gut and got my cat back before she killed him. Here are some before and after pictures
