Hi all, I am Nikos auntie! Niko is 3 and was rushed to children’s hospital on Fridays where they found his blood sugar was over 600, this is critical and life threatening. He was diagnosed as a type 1 diabetic and while it can be managed his age creates complications. In the beginning they will be followed closely by doctors at Children’s and he will have daily check ins which will require one or both of his parents to miss work . While they have health insurance we all know it never covers everything and they spent several days in patient just trying to get his blood sugar under control and learn all they can about his disease and it’s management. I expect the bills will be accumulating and the unexpected time off won’t be helpful. So I’m starting this go fund me as a way to ease the burden of this for Niko and my sister and her husband.
