My name is Niko Horton, and I’m a proud mother of five children and a loving grandmother to two beautiful grandkids. One of my children is an adult with a disability who depends on stability, calm, and a safe environment to live a healthy life.

Right now, our family is going through a devastating emergency. Pipes in our current home burst, flooding the entire house and making it unlivable. Our landlord has given us just 30 days to vacate, and now we’re racing against time to find a new, safe place to call home.

To move into a stable and secure rental, we need to come up with $15,000 immediately. This includes:

• A $6,000 deposit

• $8,400 for first and last month’s rent

• Additional moving and emergency expenses

This is more than we can manage on our own, especially with the needs of a child with disabilities, and two grandchildren to care for as well. We’re doing everything we can, but we are overwhelmed — financially, emotionally, and physically.

The instability is especially hard on my adult son with disabilities. Routine and familiarity are not just comforts — they are critical to his well-being. Being forced to move and live in chaotic or unfamiliar places causes him deep stress and confusion. We urgently need a permanent, calm, and safe home for him and the rest of our family.
