Nikki, my partner, has faced more health challenges than anyone should ever have to. She was just diagnosed with severe chronic Lyme disease and mold toxicity, and her doctors say she’ll need 9 to 12 months of intensive treatment. On top of this, Nikki already lives with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and endometriosis, and she’s a survivor of Appendix cancer. For the first 6 to 8 months of treatment, we’ve been told her condition will likely get worse before it gets better, and she may need in-home care. Through it all, she’s shown incredible strength and resilience, never letting her spirit be broken by the pain or uncertainty.

The costs of Nikki’s medical care and therapies are overwhelming. Doctors have told us the monthly cost for her medical care—including medications, appointments, and IV antibiotics—is significant. The ongoing medical expenses, testing, therapies, possible in-home care, and other costs that may arise as her treatment progresses are more than we can manage alone. We’re also struggling to keep up with our household expenses while she focuses on healing. Nikki is the most resilient and strong person I know. Even on her hardest days, when the pain is at its worst, she still finds a way to be kind to others and bring light to those around her. She’s a true ray of sunshine, and I am constantly amazed by her courage. As an Army Reserve and a veteran, I am doing everything I can to support her, but we need help.
