Our beloved friend, colleague, and community pillar, Andrea “Nikki” Swanson, has recently been diagnosed with adenosquamous non-small cell carcinoma — a rare and aggressive form of lung cancer.

For years, Nikki has been the heart and soul of our hospital community. As a dedicated mental health worker, she has stood by patients and families during their darkest moments, offering unwavering compassion, strength, and hope. Her unique ability to connect with people — always with empathy, patience, and genuine care — has become lovingly known among us as “The Nikki Way.”

Now, it’s our turn to show up for Nikki.

She has spent her life caring for others — as a mother, a friend, and a tireless advocate for mental health — and she deserves the same fierce support in return. As she begins this challenging journey, we’re raising funds to help ease the financial burden of treatment, travel, and time away from work, so she can focus on healing and being with her family.
