On January 30th, 2025, my mom, Nicole “Nikki” South, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer, Grade 3 Triple Negative Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. This has been a detrimental blow to our family, and to me personally. My mom has always been a constant, unwavering light in my life. She's the one who has been there for me tenfold, always strong and supportive. To see her go through this process, and not be able to take away her pain myself, has been incredibly hard.

Despite the shock and pain, my mom’s strength and determination to battle this recent diagnosis is shining through. She has wasted no time scheduling appointments, making calls, and gathering information to understand and fight her cancer. It’s a testament to her resilience, but I know she’s hurting deeply, too.

As she begins an intensive year-long treatment, our family is going to be facing significant medical costs that will continue to add up.
