Support Nikki Rice's Colon Cancer Recovery

Hi everyone, this is Taylor Rice and Darren Rice. We are starting this GoFundMe for my mom, Nikki (Nicole) Rice. Recently, she has been diagnosed with colon cancer after her most recent colonoscopy back in November. Her first ever colonoscopy 2 years ago had a flat polyp grow with a piece of cancer on it, but they were hopeful it was removed at that time. Since then, the flat polyp has continued to grow in the same spot on the colon with precancerous signs in her following colonoscopies. Unfortunately, this time it had multiplied in size to a point it was unremovable during the procedure and came back with a positive sign of cancer.

Since then, she has visited with doctors, had a CT scan, and had 20% of her colon removed in a surgery at Borgess Kalamazoo, Friday, December 13th. For right now, she is at home for the next month or more, healing. The doctor said it was a very successful surgery and is taking a biopsy of the lymph nodes from the colon section that was removed to make sure the cancer has not spread.

At this time, we are trying to set this up for her, as the medical bills can be overwhelming and we are unsure how much these treatments, doctor visits, and the surgery are all going to add up to.
