In late August, Nikki was suffering from severe headaches and dizziness. After CT and MRI scans, she was diagnosed with Multifocal Glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. She has been to specialists around the state and country, including a consult with one in Germany. The Nugents are exploring all options in fighting this cancer and are seeking funds to keep their treatment options open and flexible.

For those that know Nikki, she is strong, kind, and independent. She is a loving wife and mother to 3 amazingly talented adopted children, ages 13, 12, and 12. Nikki is active at her kids' school and in their local church. She also homeschools their oldest daughter, who is thriving in her homeschool environment. When the kids were younger, she was active in Mothers of Preschoolers and the local adoption community. Nikki loves coffee and pickleball, going out to eat with friends, and going on trips and adventures with her family.
