Support Nikki and Tim Allen's Cancer Battle

Donation protected
The fundraiser is for my best friend and her husband, Nikki and Tim Allen. They got hit with some pretty devastating news this week. Tim had been having we he thought was allergy symptoms that was a result of the changing weather and him being an extremely outdoorsy person. After a couple visits to ENT and being put on antibiotics multiple times he noticed his symptoms were getting worse instead of better. Last week he made another appointment with ENT and this time the provider informed him he had a significant and visible mass in the back of his throat. He was immediately set up for an ultrasound and CT scan. The CT showed a sizeable mass to the right back of his tongue expanding down his throat and into his neck, “concerning for malignancy” is what the interpretation read. He was urgently set up for a biopsy to determine if this mass was in fact cancer and what course of action would be best. He went in Tuesday to have the biopsy done and was put under anesthesia, however when the medical team attempted to remove the tube they had placed they noticed Tim’s throat was so inflamed that if they removed the tube it was likely his throat would close up and he wouldn’t be able to breathe. Nikki was told at this time that Tim has Stage III squamous cell carcinoma of the throat and neck and it had metastasized to his lymph nodes. So, instead of having the biopsy done, going home and awaiting results he ended up in ICU on a vent and Nikki was left to make some very difficult and quick decisions. Tim was transferred to a hospital with a higher level of care and with physicians that specialize in oncology. There Nikki had to make the decision to allow them to place a tracheostomy so that Tim could breathe without being on the vent, she was also informed that he would have to have a peg tube placed to allow for tube feedings. Since being transferred and awaiting surgery, Tim has developed a fever that could possibly delay/hinder the current plan of care. Once these surgeries are able to take place and it is determined it is safe for discharge he will go home but will have to endure chemotherapy/radiation daily for about seven weeks to reduce the tumor and allow for more surgeries to remove the tumor if needed. Tim will have a long road of treatments and recovery ahead of him and he will be out of work an extremely lengthy amount of time at the very least. Nikki will have to miss a significant amount of work to care for him and transport him back and forth to treatments. Nikki has been my best friend for over 20 years and she would give you anything and do anything for you if you were in need. She has such a kind heart. I haven’t known Tim but a few years but in that time I have got to know what a good guy he is. He is the love of Nikki’s life and neither of them deserve this. I am doing this fundraiser to help ease the burden on them as they go through this journey and maneuver through this awful obstacle. They will need financial assistance with bills while being out of work, travel expenses, medical bills and so much more. If you can help in any way I know they would greatly appreciate any and everything. Thank you so much in advance.
