My name is Nikki (she/they). My partner, Mark (they/them) and I are seeking mutual aid to cover both legal and medical fees, and to help support us while we are navigating this situation. Link in bio for my full account of what has happened.
- From 2011-2021, I was in an abusive relationship.
- After I left, my ex-husband engaged in a smear campaign against me, attempting to ruin my reputation and separate me from my support system.
- In the fall of 2022, as part of this smear campaign, he manipulated and used Mark's spouse, Kate (they/them), which caused extreme harm to Kate and ultimately influenced their decision to take their own life in October 2022.
I have reported the sexual assault to police, and I have an Order of Protection against my ex-husband. However, he continues to retaliate any way he can.
- He has had Mark falsely arrested 3 times this year alone. Each time, the police caused physical injuries to Mark. The most recent shoulder injury caused nearly a month of extreme pain and has severely limited Mark's mobility.
- He sued us both for $50,000 for "Defamation" in Civil Court
- He has been fighting my Order of Protection in Family Court since 2022 and continues to file for perjurous Orders against me.
We have had to cover a litany of legal and medical expenses out of pocket over the last 3 years, and anticipate more to come while we are working through each legal case.
I have had to take time off of work to navigate all 3 legal systems and coordinate with lawyers, detectives, domestic violence officers, etc. Mark has been unable to work since Kate's suicide, and that has been further exacerbated by the physical injuries caused during the multiple arrests.
