Hello my name is Tahlyssa I am a close friend of Nikia Holmes who is dealing with the tragic loss of her husband Maurice Holmes, who unexpectedly committed suicide on Wednesday evening. It's very sad to say that their 14 year old son Derek was present at the time of the incident and did witness the shooting. I did post a live video of the incident and during that video you can witness a Phoenix Police officer cold heartedly drag poor Derek out of the doorway to the apartment, in which was very unnecessary. Not only is he dealing with the loss of his father but also being mistreated by the ones who are supposed to protect us and he is now wanting counseling for both instances. The couple does have another surviving child who was not present. On Wednesday evening the crisis team did speak with Nikia, in which she was told help would be provided to her and her children as far as putting them in a hotel for a few days until she can atleast take some time to figure out her next move. The crisis team has not been in communication with anyone and therefore Nikia had no choice but to reach out to her sibling in hopes to stay at his place of residence for the time being. Nikia and her children are currently at her brothers studio apartment, being the apartment building the incident took place is giving her a hard time being the apartment was in her husbands name and they are insisting she breaks the lease. Nikia and Maurice were a team couple and without him she will not be able to afford their apartment on her own and that is why she is needing to break the lease. Her and her son Derek are going through a very difficult time and are needing some time to grieve. Nikia came to my home this afternoon and the stress she is enduring is beyond her control. I am asking for everyone's help at this time, so that Nikia can take some time for her children and herself to grieve and also beable to put Maurice to rest. Please anything will helps!!!
