It has been almost a full year since we shared the news that Nic was approved for a life-saving liver transplant. We expected this journey to be a mountain to climb, at has it ever!

Nic is still waiting for the call. Over the last year, his health has been a constant battle. Life has become a demanding cycle of endless specialist appointments, weekly testing, and a, difficult hospitalization that hit our family hard, as it's a yearly occurrence. Through it all, Nic tries his absolute best to stay strong and hopeful for our family, but the physical and emotional toll is heavy.

While the wait continues, the financial pressure is mounting. With Nic missing significant time at work, the medical expenses are adding up. The cost of maintaining health insurance, regular medical bills from recent hospital stays, continuous testing, and everyday expenses like groceries has stretched our income to the absolute limit. On top of that, we must keep funds set aside for the sudden travel and lodging costs that will hit the moment we finally get the call that a liver is ready.

We are doing everything we humanly can to keep our heads above water, but the financial strain is peaking just as Nic needs to focus entirely on staying stable enough for surgery. We know we cannot carry this weight alone.
