Support Nicole's Urgent Car Repair for Family Stability

Hello, friends. I am so embarrassed for having to ask, but I need some serious mutual aid as quickly as possible.

I need to raise $4,000-$7,000 to fix the engine in my car.

I bought my car a year ago after my bankruptcy. I had a bankruptcy because I grew up with an abusive father and was homeless for 5 years as a child and, to get out of being homeless, I had to drop out and work. My family has rented since getting out of homelessness. I used to be a major bread winner, but since I'm disabled now, we are already struggling with finances and so we really cannot afford to fix my car.

Apparently, there was a recall on my car, which is a Kia. The dealership my bankruptcy lawyer sent me to in Arizona to get the car last year didn't tell me that before I bought it. So, when my car started having problems last week and Autozone gave us a code indicating it was the knock sensor, we raised some funds and got it replaced by an individual mechanic.

Afterwards, it was still acting up, so I called the dealership in Arizona that I got the car from, and they told me about the recall and told me to take it to the Kia dealership here in town. I took it to the dealership, and even though they have an extended warranty to fix the Kias that have the same recall mine does, they said they won't cover mine because I had another mechanic replace the knock sensor first. They were able to adapt the values of the car (whatever that mechanic speak means) to the new sensor (I paid them grocery money to do it) and for 3 days it drove great, but now it is having the same problem, so I have to take it back to the Kia dealership. I didn't know there was a recall or that I wasn't allowed to go to a different mechanic outside of the dealership so now I'm really screwed.

I desperately need my car. It is the car that my family members go to work in order to keep our bills paid and to take care of me and my medical issues. I also still owe them $20,000 on the car.

I can't get another car because I have bad credit from surviving for so long, and my savings have dwindled due to me being unable to work. I am so ashamed of not being able to work and humiliated to be asking this, and I feel so bad, but I really need the help of my community.
