Nicole’s Recovery from brain surgery
Donation protected
I have started this GoFundMe page for my daughter, Nicole. Nicole spent the last 6 months in and out of the hospital, seeing many doctors and having many test ran before being able to see a Neurosurgeon. Nicole has been diagnosed with multiple conditions: Chiari Malformation of the Brain Type 1, Complex Stroke Migraines, Spondylolisthesis, T2 damage, and PNES. As you can imagine, these are very difficult and scary being brain and spine-related. She suffered from many side effects that affected her ability to drive, work and do daily tasks most of us don’t think twice about doing. Since surgery on March 3rd, Nicole’s been feeling better and only had to go back to the ER once due to fluid filling in the base of her skull that they will be monitoring.
The amount of bills is piling up with having to be Mercy Flighted, multiple trips by ambulance, multiple trips and time spent in four different hospitals, extensive testing, and doctors. Unfortunately Nicole has been able to work and is still not able to, as well as her husband has taken time off and family leave to help her recover.
Nicole has a beautiful family with a beautiful little 3-year-old daughter. My daughter’s family is her whole world. Nicole has always been a caregiver in the medical field for most of her life, so it’s difficult for her to be the one needing the help.
Our goal now that Nicole has had the surgery is to help lessen the financial burden and help her until she is able to return to work. Unfortunately she has exhausted her disability through work so she will be losing her pay through that as well before she is able to return to work.
Anything is greatly appreciated, and if you’re unable, that’s perfectly understandable. We would only ask you to please share, send prayers, and positive thoughts. Nicole has been blessed with a loving support system, and she cherishes each and every person in her life.
