My name is Angie C, and I’ve been friends with Nicole for over 20 years. With her permission and knowledge, I’m raising funds to help ease the sudden financial and medical setback she is currently facing.
As some of you know, and for those who didn’t, Nicole has been on Coumadin for many years to prevent blood clotting. She has had many problems with her legs and feet because of her blood thickening condition. It started a week ago when she thought she was having sciatica pain. Nicole took the first trip to the ER, but they couldn’t find why she was in pain and she was sent home with meds and told to rest. The next day, in more pain, her leg and foot cold and swollen with no heartbeat detected in her foot, they looked a little deeper and found she had a substantial clot in her pelvic artery. Nicole was immediately transferred to Grant and sent into emergency surgery, not only to save her leg and foot, but her life as well.
One surgery down and another in a couple of days to attempt to close her calf, Nicole will be in the hospital for a minimum of 2 weeks and need additional care when she gets home. The threat of losing her foot is not yet over.
Like for most, an unexpected, potentially long recovery and hospital stay wasn’t in the budget.
Nicole is always giving and going out of her way for people, especially those in need, often when she is struggling herself. That’s just who she’s always been. Let’s please come together and give back to Nicole when she needs it the most.
The funds will be used to help pay for monthly bills, Haden's care, unexpected expenses to come, to get through the next couple of months.
