On September 1st, Nicole’s dad suffered three massive strokes -bilateral thalamic strokes and a brainstem stroke. This has been life altering for him and his family. The strokes have affected his vision, alertness, and physical capabilities. He is currently at Shirley Ryan Ability Lab where he is receiving therapy and assistance daily. Once discharged, he will move in with Nicole and her family because he needs 24/7 care. The road ahead remains uncertain and will require intensive rehabilitation, long-term therapy, and full-time support.
