Support Nicole during Her Battle with Brain Cancer
Thirty-three years ago, Nicole Vallera Sheehan beat brain cancer for the first time. She was only 11 years old when she was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma. She underwent surgery immediately after her diagnosis, followed by radiation treatment. In the years after her remission, Nicole married Don Sheehan, and together they had 3 boys; Mike, Matt, and Marty.
In early June, Nicole started experiencing vertigo and was being treated for a possible ear infection. By the end of the week, doctors found another brain tumor and she was admitted to Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn. Nicole had surgery on June 15th to remove as much of the tumor as possible. She was diagnosed with a different type of cancer this time, Glioblastoma. Nicole will be receiving chemotherapy and radiation at Northwestern Proton Center to treat the remaining cancer.
For those of you who know Nicole, you know what a positive and strong person she is. Nicole’s reaction to her cancer diagnosis is inspiring to everyone around her. She is taking it one day at a time and she is fighting. She loves her family more than anything and any assistance that we could give to them would be one less worry for her.
We are starting this fundraiser to help the Sheehan Family with the financial burden that comes along with this diagnosis. If you would like to help, please keep the Sheehan Family in your prayers, and consider making a donation to support them.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers and for any assistance that you could provide.
