Nicole has been diagnosed with an ultra-rare and aggressive autoimmune disease called MDA5-associated interstitial lung disease. This condition is causing severe and irreversible scarring to her lungs, and her medical team has shared that her only chance of survival is a double lung transplant. Without it, her lungs will not be able to recover.

Right now, Nicole is in the ICU fighting for her life. She is on two forms of life support—an ECMO machine that oxygenates her blood outside her body and a ventilator to help her breathe. Doctors are treating her with immunosuppressants and plasma exchange therapy as they work to stabilize her enough to qualify for a transplant. Every day is critical, and every improvement is a small victory.

Nicole is a devoted wife to Joseph and a loving mother to three beautiful children: Rhiannon who is 6, Josiah who is 9, and Lil Joseph who is 17. She is a woman of deep Christian faith, known for her kindness, strength, and the way she pours love into everyone she meets. Her family, friends, and church community are all praying and believing for her healing, but they cannot face this fight alone.

The financial burden of this medical crisis has been overwhelming. Nicole’s family is facing hospital and treatment co-pays, travel and lodging expenses to stay near the transplant center, ongoing post-transplant medications and therapies, and the loss of income as Joseph remains by her side.
