Support Nico Flores Through His Recovery

On Wednesday, March 25th, our dear friend Nico Flores Santiago survived an attack on his life, suffering multiple stab wounds to his abdomen, arm, and head. He was left in critical condition and airlifted to the hospital, where he underwent three surgeries. Nico ultimately spent six days in the I.C.U. and an additional week in the hospital. Now, he has been discharged and is beginning the long process of healing—but on his path to a full recovery, he needs our help.

We are asking for assistance covering the hospital bills, as well as the cost of physical rehab and extensive trauma therapy. Nico still has to return to the hospital to get his staples removed, and to undergo surgery on his right arm, which has limited mobility after the attack. He will additionally need to do physical therapy, which is not covered by health insurance, to regain full movement in his arm. We also anticipate that Nico will need to be in trauma therapy, which is a big expense, for the foreseeable future.

Those who have met Nico know him as one of the kindest, gentlest souls, and the fact that he has experienced such unimaginable violence is devastating. But we also know that he is incredibly strong and resilient, and we lend our support to him in overcoming the physical and emotional trauma he has experienced.
