My name is Max, and I am making this gofundme for my partner, Nick.

I am very fortunate to have had his help over the last few years getting into veterinary school, and now I want to help him. He has hit a streak of terrible luck that has decimated his savings.

Over the last year, Nick has had 4 different vehicles. The first developed mechanical issues that would have cost more to fix than the car was worth. Car 2 was a reliable 2020 Corolla that ran great until Nick was rear-ended due to no fault of his own in September of 2025. His replacement was a very nice 2022 Honda Insight that was very costly, but would have been very safe and fuel-efficient. Unfortunately, this vehicle was totaled in a hit-and-run incident in February when Nick was rear-ended again. Nick had to scramble to find a replacement with very little pocket cash and settled on an older vehicle. After 2 weeks of owning this vehicle, and $1700 of repairs, a trusted mechanic revealed to us that those repairs only scratched the surface of what was wrong, rendering the car unable to be driven. He is very self-starting and learned a lot about cars so that he could maintenance this one himself. He has picked up extra work on the side and we are working together to save as much money as possible. It is still not enough.

It is incredibly important for Nick’s job as a social worker that he have a safe and reliable vehicle which he can use to transport his clients. He works with youth and makes sure they get to and from group and personal sessions safely.
