Hi Everyone!
I have an opportunity to move into another sober lifestyle living arrangement with my own room in the heart of Charleston business, as well as being overall substantially cheaper with my short and long terms. I simultaneously have an opportunity to segue into the professional workforce that requires me to have a “remote office space” I currently do not have.
I have successfully completed a hospital stay for safety, graduated from the Charleston Center for preliminary detox, completed Britelife Residential in Hilton Head, and a 6-week PHP program at Lantana Recovery Center, and now I'm in a step-down facility called Lantern Residences that handles short-term reintegration. Apparently, there was a miscommunication that given I did not have transportation, and we are miles from the most basic labor-type positions (even more miles to a bus stop), there arises quite a difficulty.
So, I’ve got an offer on the table to rent a bedroom from a very stable and sober friend in the program in a MUCH better location for general employment and if I do get in the door with a basic remote job like data entry or call center rep like in MN.
There would be NO lease in this case and NO deposit, so the cost of entry and opportunity is so much lower. But I’m at least covered another week or so from the grant money I miraculously found out about and took 5 mins!
The apt is nice but not too crazy. It’s $1895, and so he would want $925 from me, and then paid up for a month, I’d have plenty of time to work till the next due date (all-inclusive, NO bills). He would like me to move in the 15th or earlier.
So I’m on the quest for whatever help I can get. I got two problems—1) the grant will stop and I’m gonna be physically incapable of working without a remote job; 2) the grant will run out.
It was recommended that I set up a GoFundMe account as a proxy so people can donate what they want anonymously if they want or not at the same time.
I wrestled with this decision and have been praying about it for about two weeks and been talking to various individuals I trust and value their opinion.
Thank you so much for taking the to consider this and any thoughts and prayers.
i miss and love all of you !
