Hi everyone,

I am Bea ("Bee") Z. and Jeff D. is co-hosting this fundraiser with me for my closest, dearest friend in the world: NICKOLE HANNA. She is currently in the hospital in Florida, where she will be stuck for at least the week undergoing some scary treatments due to complications following a surgery she had on July 25.

Nickole is the strongest person I know and the brightest, most beautiful light shining through a human being to this world. Throughout her life, she has faced more heartbreak than anyone should have to bear — losing countless beloved family members, including her younger brother. She has persevered through unimaginable loss, deep loneliness, and injustice, yet she remains a radiant force of love and hope to everyone who has the privilege of experiencing her grace.

Nickole is currently navigating a divorce and the financial difficulties that come along with it. Still, she continues to stay positive, caring deeply for her friends, home, and her beloved pets — each with their own quirks and needs. She has tended to her garden creating beauty and warmth in her little corner of a comparatively desolate area. She is a pillar of unconditional love, perseverance, and optimism — the kind of person who makes this world better simply by being in it and she still puts goodness back into it every single day, intentionally.

It’s not fair what is happening to her body — she is doing the hard work to take care of it — and it’s not fair that the cards she has been dealt her entire life. Nickole is scared. We are scared with her. Despite her supportive coworkers, her financial resources are extremely strained, and every extra day in the hospital means more debt she cannot afford.
