Please help your neighborhood stylist in her time of need

If you don’t know her, let me introduce her:

Nickie is a hair stylist at Heaven and Hair in Jarrell. She works with the best of the best ladies. Doing hair is her passion. She found it late in life, but helping her clients feel good about themselves and making them feel amazing is what keeps this sweet girl going.

When she’s not at work her 4 children and 7 grand-babies keep her on her toes. They are her entire world.

She’s going to kill me for this, but she needs our help. After 30 years of friendship I know it’s time to help her. She does not ask for help even when she is drowning. She’s too proud. But by helping here, let’s show her she’s not alone and that her friends, family and community love her too.

Nickie is having to have a much needed surgery in August due to several health complications. She has suffered with Lupus for over 15 years. She has a heart condition called trigemini that causes an extra third beat as well. Her iron should be between 12- 16 and hers has been between 6-7 over the last year. This has been causing her lupus to flare and heart to go insane . With the excruciating pain from lupus and the wind being knocked out of her when her heart gets to going it is making life extremely hard at this point in time. Most recently her muscles have started to have spasms. Her legs tighten up and her legs/ankles turn inward. We are hoping that with this surgery these health issues will subside.

Nickie deals with the pain and rarely complains. She puts on a smile and pushes through it because that’s what her past has taught her to do. If she does complain, the pain must be unbearable.

As some people may know she is going through a divorce and is doing this on her own. Being a single mom in a career that does not provide insurance or sick pay I am asking you to help her.

The surgery is scheduled for mid August after school starts. When Nickie is not working she is not making money. She will be bed ridden for a minimum of 2-3 weeks. After she is allowed to start working slowly and in small shifts so her income stream will take a bit to rebound.

We already have a meal train started to ensure Nickie and Jeffrey are eating healthy for fast recovery.

We are asking for help with her medical bills, rent and utility bills while she is down so that she can focus on healing and taking care of her son. The sooner she is feeling better the sooner she can get back to work to help her clients feel good, which is all she wants in the world to do.

She’s a constant giver. Her heart is as big as Texas and she loves everyone.
