Hello all! My name is Nick Valles. I'm currently an ICU nurse and have been a nurse for 11 years total. My biggest priority has always been caring for others before caring for myself. Unfortunately, I’ve become the patient and the roles are definitely reversed. For the last 3 years, I’ve been battling issues with my kidney from incredibly large kidney stones, bleeding, severe pain, and recurring infections. Sadly, this has forced me to take off work and has also ended up in the emergency department several times this year alone with pain, bleeding, and stones. The medical bills are piling up, and I’m struggling to keep pace. I was also informed that I will most likely require surgery to fix this issue.
