Support Nick & Megan in the Aftermath of Hurricane Helene

Hi friends, this is a hard thing to ask for, but Nick and I are in need of help. In the early morning hours of September 27th, our home was flooded by over 18 inches of storm surge from Hurricane Helene, which has caused extensive damage that will need to be repaired. We have rented this house in the Palmetto Beach neighborhood of Tampa for seven years and are so sad that this will be the last chapter of us living here. Thankfully, a friend has reached out with a place for us to stay in St. Pete for now.
Thankfully, we hadn’t set up the nursery for baby boy, so all of the baby items are safe and sound. But the new couch we just purchased in anticipation of our little addition has been soiled, and flooding isn’t covered under the 5-year protection plan. Our mattress is unusable, not to mention all the other items that have been damaged.
And to make things worse, a tree fell on Nick’s truck as we were preparing to evacuate, crushing the roof and breaking the windows. The trailer with all of his carpentry equipment had to be left behind and got flooded as well.
We wouldn’t ask if we didn’t need the help. We’ve been shown a great amount of support already from friends and family, and we couldn’t be more grateful. At a time when life is supposed to be joyful, we are facing this hardship, but I am thankful that we are safe and that there are brighter days ahead.
Any help received will help us purchase new furniture, clothes, and food, as well as possibly make repairs to the truck, and get us back on our feet so we can move forward before baby comes in December.
