Many of you know Nick Hale as a poet and publisher for Local Gems Press. He has always been a vibrant and very important part of the poetry community.

On Wed 5/2/18, he experienced the shock and tragedy of losing his home and everything in it to a huge fire that took place in the Fairfax VA area. Link below to the story

Virginia Fires 

Because several fires broke out in close proximity the fire department couldn't reach his area for over 30 minutes, over a dozen houses were lost, including his. He was in the house as it caught on fire but luckily made it out on time. 

He is physically fine, but losing your home and everything in it is no laughing matter. Information on what insurance will pay is still incomplete and even then rebuilding takes a long time. 

Needless to say, now is a time of need for Nick and his housemate. For years Nick has been a huge part of the forming and shaping of the Bards Initiative on Long Island, NoVA Bards in Northern Virginia and Local Gems Press's many publications across the country and the world. Let's return the kindnesses he has shown and throw a little support to him in this hour.
