2020 has been a trying year for most to say the least but for my brother-in-law, Nick and sister Lauren (Lolo), this has been one of the toughest years of their lives. Once the COVID pandemic claimed its place in all our lives and affected the workplace, my sisters company was shut down and has been out of work since March. On May 12th, Nicks father Dan, suddenly passed away due to organ failure and internal bleeding leaving everyone in the family heartbroken and without the ability to give Dan the memorial service he deserves.
Then on July 4th, another turn of events shook up Lolo and Nicks world. While visiting family for a weekend filled with laughter and the chance to mentally escape the recent loss of a loved one, Nick found himself in an ambulance on the way to the ER. While lighting fireworks with other family members, Nick noticed a canister that had been lit was in upside down. Unfortunately he was not able to get the canister to the ground in time. When it detonated, the firework shot out the wrong end of the canister where he was holding it. Nick suffered a horrific injury almost losing his left hand, a dislocated wrist, and fractured the radius and the ulna.
The medical bills they are anticipating will be next to impossible to cover due to the loss of employment and health insurance. Anything you're able to provide will help and bless them in more ways than you can imagine, no amount is too small! We also ask that you pray for Nicks hand to gain a full recovery and for God to watch over them during this time. Nick and Lolo have always put everyone else's needs in front of their own. Anyone that knows them, knows they will do anything to jump in and help with no questions asked. Our family could not ask for a better aunt and uncle to our kids and all they do for them.
